  • I cant even begin to tell you how much I like The Veingel. The Nephilim have interested me since I was old enough to realize what they really were and what the bible says God had to do to be rid of them, not a whole lot of people hear about them when they talk about the story of the ark. I love how you have taken a little known topic and made it yours. All the while, keeping to what is already known about them! (I also left a short review at Podcast Alley saying something similar, you should let people know about that link on your site).

But, in my opinion, the absolute best part about this story is that the “good guy, bad guy” dynamic. Our “hero” is hated by Yahweh. In many stories that would be a bad thing. Who wants to be on Jehovah’s bad side?  And our “villians” are doing His work. Yet we clearly have no love for them.

So are we going to end up in Hell for cheering on Jequon!?

    Just a thought. . .

    Keep up the AWESOME work!

P.S. A question for you (if its not too personal), do you have any religious background?

  • Hi Joe,

Man, thanks so much for the glowing feedback. You really made my day, and I appreciate the insightful remarks regarding the Nephilim and related Biblical Mythology that not many people are aware of. I’m so glad you’re “getting it.“

And thanks for the review on Podcast Alley as well! Is that how you heard of THE VEINGEL?

My religious background. Hmmm…. Well, I was raised in a somewhat “Evangelical” household. In college, I took Philosophy courses… And now, let me just say that this book, and the following two books I plan to write in the series, are my attempts to write a novel that would convince me that there is indeed a just and loving God. I’ll leave at that for now, don’t want to spoil the story wink

Again, Joe, thanks so much! You rock!

  • I had first seen The Veingel on Podcast Alley, at least Im pretty sure thats where. . .  I listened to the few episodes that were there at the time. But as I waited no new episodes showed up. So i figured the author (you) had dropped it or something. THEN it showed up in the Zune Marketplace, and at that point you were up to Episode 28. AND I was PSHYCED when you switched to the “extended” shows! It took a little while to catch up but I’m along for the ride! For however many books you want to write!

  • WoW! I have to say too, that Joe is awesome! Wonderful insightful comment!
Jeremy, I love the music at the end of your extended feeds!
This episode was really a head trip; what with Mercy having the headaches and “burnt toast” smell along with…..I don’t think God would take that kind of “revenge” on her….being that I too believe(if there is a God) that HE is merciful and kind;that he wouldn’t be reduced to such petty shows of HIS power.
    Now for the questions:
Is Jequon based on any one person or a combination of people?
How much research do you/have you done for the religious aspects of this book?
Do you have some sort of notebook for indexing purposes in regards to characters, settings, dialogue and history?

Again, I enjoy my newfound vicarious fame! Yours is my most anticipated podcast novel to date! As long as you allow my pathetic stalkage(is this even a word?)  I will continue!
    Stalk ya next week!

  • By the way, I don’t have any birds, but I do have a three year old and a 50 gal.fish tank complete with a mutant algae eater, does that make me crazy? Or does asking if I’m crazy make me crazy? lol

  • Great comments as always, Bonnie. Thank you. I’ll save your questions for the next episode (which I haven’t even written yet—yikes).

Crazy people don’t think to ask, so I would say you’re completely sane. And, you enjoy THE VEINGEL, which makes you smarter than the average bear. And probably better looking too.

Great questions. I’m looking forward to addressing them.
